Bei der Warcraft Direct ignoriert, jetzt mit neuem Patch - was hat Blizzard vor?
Bei der Warcraft Direct wurden fast alle Warcraft-Spiele behandelt - nur eines hat gefehlt. Das hat nun aber einen neuen Patch bekommen.
Die vergangene Warcraft Direct stand voll und ganz im Zeichen von ... na ja, Warcraft eben. Alles andere wäre wohl auch eine große Überraschung gewesen. Immerhin feiert das Warcraft-Franchise seinen 30. Geburtstag, WoW hat sein 20. Jubiläum, Hearthstone ist zehn Jahre auf dem Markt und Warcraft Rumble feiert den 1. Geburtstag.
Zu all diesen Warcraft-Spielen gab es auch jede Menge Neuigkeiten und Ankündigungen. Besonders WoW hat mit den neuen Rennwagen und dem angekündigten Housing ordentlich abgeliefert.
Neben Warcraft hat sich aber auch noch ein anderes Blizzard-Franchise reingemogelt, dass eigentlich nichts mit WoW und Co. zu tun hat. Denn auch StarCraft hatte einen kurzen Auftritt. Es wird als besonderer Spielmodus in Hearthstone auftreten.
Damit wären dann alle Spiele mit Warcraft-Beteiligung abgehandelt, oder? Nicht wirklich. Denn eines fehlt noch. Eines, von dem man mittlerweile fast denken könnte, Blizzard hat vergessen, dass es existiert. Aber schon zwei Tage nach der Warcraft Direct kam die Überraschung - es lebt noch!
Von wegen Wartungsmodus - neues Balancing, neue Fähigkeiten, Bugfixes
Das letzte Mal, dass man sich bei Blizzard um sein vergessenes Moba gekümmert hat, ist eine lange Zeit her. Und in der Vergangenheit gab es nur mal kleinere Patches mit ein paar Anpassungen und Bugfixes.
Nun kommt Heroes of the Storm mit einem weiteren Patch um die Ecke - und der hat es in sich. Fast 8.000 Zeichen sind die Patch Notes lang und es handelt sich dabei nicht nur um winzige Anpassungen oder Bugfixes. Es gibt waschechte Balancing-Änderungen in größerem Maßstab und sogar die eine oder andere neue oder überarbeitete Fähigkeiten wird implementiert.
Aber warum dieser Patch? Heroes of the Storm befindet sich offiziell seit Jahren im Wartungsmodus. Im Klartext: Blizzard hält die Server am Laufen, investiert aber keine Arbeit mehr in das Spiel. So umfangreiche Änderungen kommen aber nicht von alleine. Es stellt sich die Frage, was Blizzard vor hat?
Eine große Zukunft für Heroes of the Storm oder gar ein Comeback? Unwahrscheinlich, aber sicherlich nicht ausgeschlossen. In dem Fall hätte sich die Warcraft Direct allerdings angeboten. Oder wollte man das lieber nicht, da Heroes aus mehr als nur aus Warcraft-Helden besteht?
Der Kauf durch Microsoft und die Aussage von Phil Spencer, dass man etwas mit den Blizzard-IPs vorhabe und diese wieder mit Leben befüllen wolle, ließ Fans schon vor längerem Aufhorchen. Bisher ist aber nichts in der Richtung passiert. Steht uns jetzt doch eine größere Anpassung ins Haus oder war nur ein HotS-Fan uns Blizzard-Angestellter besonders motiviert und hat mehr Arbeit reingesteckt als nötig?
